“I haven’t a f****** clue what’s going to happen. Success for me isn’t about fame and fortune. I just love going round the world making people happy — as clichéd as that sounds. Spend 30 quid to see me and I’ll make sure you get your money’s worth.”

Niall Horan, The Sunday Times 15.10.17

“What I loved the most though, was how humble Horan was. On many occasions, he could not stop thanking the audience for showing up and didn’t seem to end a song without a smile. Although his crowd was much less populated than it was at the height of his One Direction days (which on average drew in 50,000 attendees per concert), he didn’t appear the slightest bit bothered. He seemed honored to be performing and told the crowd, “I know these things can cost a lot, and you guys are out here spending your hard-earned money on me, so truly, from the bottom of my heart, thank you, Atlanta.” Even if this was a line that he recycled at all his concerts, he said it so genuinely that it was hard to believe he felt otherwise.

There was nothing flashy about the concert, but that was the idea. There were no back-up dancers and Horan wasn’t on stage performing a choreographed dance routine. It was just a simple artist, wearing a simple blue shirt and jeans, nearing the end of his first world tour, living his best life. The show was just Niall Horan rocking out with his guitar and impressing the audience with his astounding vocals. And somehow, that was more than enough.”
